The history of the company is linked to professional history of its founder and managing director Mr. Wanchai Rujchanabhak. Mr. Wanchai began as a goldsmith selling gold to jewelry shops in Bangkok's Chinatown 25 years ago, interested in metallurgy, he also began researching various metallurgical processes. It was, at first, a slow, tedious and exacting enterprise. A major breakthrough occured when he developed a way to automate the process. No longer was personal attention needed. Freed from the need for careful personal supervision, Mr. Wanchai could devote his time to developing additional technology resulting in the techniques of chemically inducing tarnish retardants and the unique decorative process of Milleluci, whose patent is presently pending. Hence, Phoenix Electroforming was born from the ashes of previous experience and diligent research and experimentation. The company's name is apt in that like the mythological bird, it is associated with gold and its recreation from fire, in this instance, the fire of electricity.
